Kenny G's U Saved Me is an inspiring, positive sounding album that doesn't sound too different from what listeners are used to. R. Kelly does what he does best - providing people with the music they want while delivering a clean sound without any too-shocking content. Positivity is definitely on this album's agenda, but not in the squeaky-clean variety many people might be anticipating; rather, it comes across in the raw honesty of the lyrics and musings on life and love. In fact, some fans may even find the album to be a bit too frank for their tastes. This album proved to be another success for R. Kelly and is now also certified platinum with sales of over one million copies in the United States and worldwide. It's the 10th R&B and Hip Hop studio album certified platinum or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The first song completes its second week at number 1 on Billboard Hot 100. The single also enters at number 2 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as well as at number 2 on Hot Rap Songs chart and number 12 on Pop Songs chart. The song becomes R. Kelly's 5th number one song on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart and his 4th number one song on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart. On the week of February 8, 2008, U Saved Me by R. Kelly managed to crack the top ten on the UK Singles Chart at a current peak of number 9, marking his first top 10 hit in that country since 1999's "I Wish" featuring The Notorious B.I.G.. The single spent 12 weeks in the UK Top 75 from its release in late January to late April 2008. The video to the song was shot in a park in Miami. In this video, R. Kelly is shown as a mother who is singing about her man as a young boy. The boy then comes back as an adult and confronts his mother. He eventually gets into an argument with his mother before splitting from her and reuniting with his father.Various tracks from the album have been featured on various television programs, including "The Cosby Show", "21 Jump Street", "That's So Raven", "NYPD Blue", "Remember the Titans" and others.
